Clinical boundary

Safety comes before shopping

Sift supports cautious, over-the-counter cosmetic care. It does not diagnose a condition, choose prescription treatment, or replace urgent or in-person care.

When the product flow stops

  • Breathing difficulty, facial or tongue swelling, fainting, or a severe rapidly worsening reaction require emergency help.
  • Fever, eye pain or vision change, rapidly spreading symptoms, marked swelling, discharge, or an open or infected-looking area need prompt in-person assessment.
  • Deep painful bumps, scarring, sudden marked hair loss, or concerning nail changes can require clinician review.

Restricted recommendations

Sift does not recommend prescription-only treatment, oral medication, hormone therapy, or ingestible supplements as a substitute for a clinician. Pregnancy, conception, breastfeeding, allergy, medicine, and diagnosed-condition context can limit the plan.

About consumer spot tests

Trying a product on a small area can reveal obvious irritation for some people, but it cannot guarantee safety and is not the same as clinician-supervised allergy patch testing.
